The Grover and Sara McKenzie Family Foundation, Inc. is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, donor-supported organization. Programs and services are made possible through contributions from members, individuals, corporations and foundations.

With their parents in 2008, the children of Grover & Sara McKenzie of Chester, Pennsylvania came together to support individuals and communities. Grover McKenzie Jr. is a native of St. Matthews, South Carolina and a U.S. military veteran. Following his military service Grover successfully completed Business School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He began his employment with Scott Paper Company in 1951. In 1956 Grover was promoted from the sanitation department to the plant tabulation department. Grover McKenzie became the first Black professional employee in the Scott Paper Company corporate headquarters. He later a retired after a long career as an IT Professional. Sara Elizabeth Gibbs McKenzie (deceased) was a native of Chester, Pennsylvania and a graduate of Chester High School. Sara studied cosmetology, worked as a cosmetologist, and later worked as a teacher’s aide in the Chester Upland School District. She provided 20 years of service to Chester students before her retirement.

The Directors of this foundation continue the lessons learned from their parents in their commitment to the ideals of growth through educational achievement, commitment to community involvement, and the selfless giving of an African-American family.
