The Grover and Sara McKenzie Family Foundation, Inc. will offer four scholarships to graduating high school seniors for a total of $2,000

Pensacola, Florida – Grover and Sara McKenzie Family Foundation, Inc. is proud to announce the expansion of our outreach efforts for educational support and assistance in the form of four $500 scholarships awards for a total of $2,000. Scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors from Calhoun County High School in St. Matthews, SC and Chester High School in Chester, PA.

“The great potential of our youth must be nurtured and supported,” said Grover McKenzie III, board chair of the Foundation. “We, along with our foundation partners, are excited about this expansion of our educational outreach.”

The scholarships honor the legacies of Grover McKenzie, Jr. and Sara Elizabeth (Gibbs) McKenzie. In 1945 Grover graduated from John Ford High School, St. Matthews, SC. In 1948 Sara graduated from Chester High School, Chester, PA. They raised their family with a commitment to the ideals of growth through educational achievement and a commitment to community involvement.

“This scholarship was created to aid, support and give hope to deserving young people in overcoming barriers. There is so much more that needs to be done. This is a worthy step towards helping them reach their goals.”

Applications for the scholarships are now open and close on March 31, 2022. Eligibility requirements can be found on the application portal. Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to ensure applications are received within the submission timeframe.
