Hopkinson Back To School Drive 2023
for Dartmouth Village Guyana
Hopkinson Back To School Drive is a 15 year initiative to fill in the gap for some of Guyana’s most vulnerable children. Your donations help us provide backpacks, school supplies, clothing, personal hygiene items and funding for transportation to/from high school for children in the Dartmouth Village in the Essequibo coast of Guyana. Together, we can help ensure these children achieve success despite their circumstances.
The Hopkinson Back To School Drive Will Continue to Focus on Students Needs of Post-COVID-19
The Hopkinson Back To School Drive for Dartmouth Village started more than 15 years ago by Ada (Hopkinson) Charles. The dedication of Ada Charles was born from her memories of growing up and being educated in Dartmouth Village. Her desire is to encourage educational achievement in young people and to give brand new items to boys and girls that may not have often receive unused items.
Hundreds of children have received donated items purchased, collected, packaged and shipped from the United States to students from elementary school through high school.
