The Grover and Sara McKenzie Family Foundation, Inc. makes donation in support of the Math Practice Program of the Chester Children’s Chorus
Pensacola, Florida – December 10, 2020 – The Grover and Sara McKenzie Family Foundation, Inc. contributed $20,000 to the Chester Children’s Chorus to support the Math Practice program. Chester Children’s Chorus members work on their math skills with a Swarthmore College student once per week using an individualized curriculum that closes the gaps in their math practice. The donation will be utilized to support the work of the Math Practice program and the development of assessment tools to enhance academic achievement.
Chester Children’s Chorus is in its 26th year of inspiring Chester youth with the love of music, the power of performance and the attainment of educational success. The Grover and Sara McKenzie Family Foundation, Inc. makes this $20,000 donation in memory and honor of their family matriarch Mrs. Arcissa Thompson. Arcissa “City” Thompson was a Chester, PA entrepreneur and community leader.
We give a special Thank-You to the Chester High School Class of 1970 for their partnership in this fundraising campaign. This campaign to support the Chester Children’s Chorus and the children of Chester runs through 2021. The CCC is a year-round organization that focuses on providing positive experiences designed to develop Chester students both musically and academically.
“Young people need encouragement and stability in their lives. The Grover and Sara McKenzie Family Foundation’s campaign for the Chester Children’s Chorus gives each of us a chance to help a child that may be in need of that encouragement,” said Board Chair, Grover McKenzie III.
